In the name of God Amen I L. Lot Larkham of Voluntown in
the County of Windham and State of Connecticut, labouring
under Indisposition of Body and Infirmity of old age yet
through the Mercy of God being of a sound disposing Mind
& Memory Do make and ordain this my last will and
Testament in manner and form following (to wit) First and
principally of all I assign, my Soul with the utmost humility
into the hand of Almighty God my Creator, humbly hoping for a
blessed immortality through the merits of my blessed Redeemer
Jesus Christ, and my body to be decently buried at the
Discretion of my Executor hereafter named And for such
temporal state as it hath pleased the Lord to Bless me with
in this Life I order & Dispose of in the following Manner
(viz.)
Item -- My will is that all my Just Debts and
funeral Charges be paid and satisfied by my Executor
hereafter named.
Item -- I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife
Hannah the use of the East great room in my now Dwelling
house and also the Use of the northeast Bedroom likewise a
privilege in the kitchen and a privilege in the Cellar &
Chamber house Room, and also to go in, and out at any Door in
my Sd house, and to pass up and Down any stairs,
and also to the well and to have provided for, and cut at the
door suitable for the fire, sufficient firewood, and also the
use of one Milk cow to be kept in good liking by my sd
Executor and one hog to be fatted yearly by sd
Executor, and ten Bushels of Indian Corn and four Bushels of
Rye, and privilege of sufficient sauce for her use, and ten
pounds of Wool, and twenty Pounds flax yearly to be provided
by my said Executor, and sweetening tea, and salt so much as
will make her comfortable, and candles, all the above gifts
and Bequeathments to be performed and done by my sd
Executor so long as she remains my Widow -- I also give unto
my said wife all the household furniture that she brought
with her, at her marriage with me, to her forever.
Item I give to my grandson John Larkham the
son of John Larkham Decd. Two Dollars to be paid him by my
Executor at my Decease, and also the one half of my wearing
apparel, and that together with what my son John Larkham Decd.
has had already is the what that I allow them of my Estate.
Item I give to my son Thomas Larkham Two
dollars to be paid him by my Executor at my Decease, together
with the one half of my wearing apparel, and that with what
he has already had is his part of my Estate.
Item I give unto Prudence Hymes wife of
William Hymes my best feather Bed and furniture with one suit
of Curtains also the one there part of my Indoor movables,
not given to my wife nor hereafter Dispose of in this will
and twenty dollars in money to be paid in one year after my
decease by my Executor, and also my warming pan, and that
with what she has already had is her part of my Estate.
Item I give unto Sarah Colegrove wife of
Benjamin Colegrove one feather Bed and furniture with a half
a suit of curtains only, and also the one third part of my
Indoor Movables that is not hereafter or hereto for disposed
of in this will , and that with what she has already had is
her part of my estate.
Item I give unto my Daughter
Patience Witter
one feather Bed and furniture without Curtains, also one
third part of my Indoor movables not given to my wife nor
hereafter disposed of in this will and also five dollars on
money to be paid by my Executor at my decease which with what
she has already had is her part of my Estate.
Item I give unto my Grandson
Lot Colegrove
son of Benjm Colegrove my great Bible to be
Delivered him at the Decease of my wife Hannah
Item I give to Erastus R. Larkham son of Lot
Larkham my Mare Colt Saddle and Bridle
Item I give unto my Grandson
Lancelot Larkham
the son of Lot Larkham my Loom and the tackling thereunto
belonging
Item I give Bequeath and Divin unto my son
Lot
Larkham all my Real Estate lying in said Voluntown as
Elsewhere and also the Andirons that stand in my east-Room,
Shovel and Tongs, Sadiron, Sh---, clock, Hatchet, Laye, P--,
Kettle, together with Chest Barn and all of wooden lumber and
also all my personal estate not heretofore given away with
all farming tools and utensils -- they are to belong to him
and his heirs forever.
This I do hereby constitute ordain and appoint him my sd
Son Lot Larkham to be sole Executor to this
my last will and testament, hereby invoking all other and
former wills and declare this only to be my last will and
Testament __ In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal the 3rd Day of December Ano Domini 1819

to the foregoing will and made oath that they saw the
Testator sign said will and heard him publish and pronounce
the same to be his last will & testament and that they
subscribed the same as concerns his presence and in the
presence of each other __ & further that they believed
the said testator at that time to be of a sound mind and
Memory & understanding.
Sworn before James Alexander Justice of Peace On the 6th
Day of February 1821 In court __ the foregoing will of
Lancelot Larkham late of Voluntown Decd. was, by Lot Larkham
Executor thereon, presented to this court as his last will
& testament is which will is provided & now approved
and accepted and herein Truly Recorded.
